Misty Light Path

$30.00$90.00

Location: Columbia River Gorge

I was invited to enter a photo contest around the theme of showing the effects humans and climate change have on the environment. The Eagle Creek forest fire of 2017 was devastating to all admirers of the Columbia River Gorge and capturing the effects of that fire was the first thought that came to my mind. As someone who hikes regularly in the Gorge, I knew that while the effects of the fire were still very present, the forest was recovering and there was still plenty of beauty to be seen. That morning found the upper areas of the Gorge covered in a thick fog which gave the whole area a haunting tranquility.  As I hiked along the trail the sun suddenly peaked through casting a sliver of light through the dark burnt trees creating what looked like a path of light. This photo gained honorable mention in the photo contest but would later win the Scenic Western Gorge prize in the 2023 Friends of the Columbia Gorge photo contest.

Unless requested otherwise, each print is printed on lustre paper with a 1-2″ white border. The white border is part of the print size so the actual image size will be slightly smaller.  Each print will include a signature in the bottom right corner and a title in the bottom left corner both on the white border just under the image. If you prefer no signature and title on the front of the print, want a borderless print, or a different paper type just let me know in the order notes.
